Since 1980, Chadwick Optical has been a specialty optical lab and trusted resource for ophthalmic professionals around the world. When a practitioner has a really difficult case - one that they may see only once a year or even once in their career, they call us. We’ve become known as the lab that handles anything out of the ordinary - and we love that.

We love that because it means we’re serving the outliers; patients that would otherwise have been lost in the healthcare system because their situation required their doctor to exceed the standard of care. As we all know, the standard of care is the bare minimum in healthcare. Unfortunately, that’s enough for far too many practitioners.

Several years ago, we launched this e-commerce site to offer low vision devices and functional tints directly to patients as well as to create an easy way for practitioners to order assessment kits and more common items. The shop is a mix of off-the-shelf items from manufacturers we trust such as Schweizer and items that are built-to-order, direct from our optical lab.

Our mission at Chadwick Optical is simple: we want to inspire practitioners to exceed the standard of care and help them succeed in doing so. We also want to educate patients to empower them to be their own advocates while navigating a broken healthcare system.

We are constantly working on that second part.
